Galveston Island: New Mercies I See

I am WAY past due to post photos from my August 3 mile run at Galveston Island. My mom, sister, and I headed down there for our annual girls trip. You just can't go wrong with a beach vacation. I got up about 6:30 one morning to catch the sunrise and nearly missed it. Check out these pictures I snapped of the brand new day.

As I look through these photos, a hymn comes to mind. An oldie, but a goodie:

Great is thy faithfulness, Oh God my Father
There is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be

Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning, new mercies I see!
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is they faithfulness, Lord unto me

More blog posts to come more frequently! I've signed up for another half marathon in February, and to prepare- there are a few runs to accomplish before that. :)

YOLO, eh?

Yesterday, we arrived in Canada and headed directly to Niagara Falls. I got some great pictures last night but knew I wanted to come back at sunrise to get in a once-in-a-lifetime (probably) run and to see God wake up His masterpiece. You only live once, right? I ran down to Horseshoe Falls from our hotel, which I estimate is about a half mile. No one was up at 5:50 this morning.

Then, I ran down past Rainbow Bridge, which was about another mile down the path beside the Falls.

I crossed over, farther into the Canadian side of the Falls and made my trek back up a very beautiful pathway.

Of course, I had to cross back over to run along closer to the water. The sun was just starting to come out on my way back up to where I started at Horseshoe.

After taking a few minutes of God-time, I headed back up the hill toward our hotel. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to run all the way back because it was all up-hill, and I haven't trained on hills since March! However, I did it... 3 miles! Feelin' pretty good.

So I'll leave you with an oldie but a goodie- God is good, all the time. And all the time, God is good. Onto my next adventure.
